Who Am I?
I’m a ukulele teacher, leader, and performer with 15+ years of teaching experience. 11 of those dedicated to the ukulele.
Music has been part of my life since age 12, when I taught myself guitar and drums. The ukulele joined a few years later, and I’ve been hooked ever since. What began as a teenage passion grew into a full-time career: I now teach, perform, and lead two community groups—The Southside Strummers and Rainbow Ukes.
I perform regularly—solo, with my band Katabatic Bloom, and alongside my groups. I also run workshops at ukulele festivals across the UK, collaborate with other ensembles, and partner with companies like Flight Ukulele and Noisy Clan to support players and communities across Scotland.
My students range from age 4 to 80+, and I specialise in fun, accessible lessons that build confidence. Whether it’s breaking down tricky concepts, incorporating cajon and bass for kids, or tailoring lessons to different learning styles, my goal is always the same: to help people grow in confidence, connect with their community, and experience the joy of making music.
Outside of music, I hold a BSc (Hons) in Sport & Physical Activity and spent 14 years competing and teaching Tae Kwon Do for Scotland—where I first discovered my love of teaching.
